Festival of the Force 2026

Festival of the Force 2026 was held at Newark Showground on 31st January, and it was one of those events that makes you realise how special it is when pure Star Wars descends on a place. This was my first time attending and it was clear simply joining that queue that it was going to be one for the purists!

A Palooza in the Force

Luke and Matt met on ‘The Cantina’ forum on the Star Wars Network, only to find out they both worked on the same street in Basildon, the rest is history and the Sessions was born when they launched the ‘Star Wars Sessions’ podcast, a true passion project which debuted on 12th April 2018. A physical manifestation of their passion for Star Wars, Galaxypalooza is a ‘Star Wars Sessions Fan Convention’ scheduled for 6th June 2026…

Comic Con Liverpool 25’ retrospective

Comic Con Liverpool is a standout pop-culture weekend in the diary, but Monopoly Events’ flagship convention in 2025 felt like something special for Star Wars fans. Monopoly had a pretty prolific year for Star Wars fans, but this one was a knockout in terms of the lineup. I could only make it for part of one day of the two-day event, and although being very time poor I decided it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss.

Starfury Invasion: A Weekend of Star Wars in Birmingham

Last weekend I attended Starfury Invasion at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham. Although Starfury conventions have been running for years, this was only their second dedicated Star Wars event, and my first time attending one. It was obvious from the schedule that this was going to be more intimate than a big convention, and that played out for a really unique experience.

Topps Chrome has become something of a yearly staple for Star Wars card collectors, and the 2025 release has landed after huge anticipation. It’s a set I really like after being very impressed by last years 2024 release, but in some ways it also asks a lot of its collectors…

SH Figuarts Ahsoka review

I’ve picked up my fair share of Hasbro’s Black Series figures. I’m not a hardcore figure collector but the Black Series felt like the sweet spot between affordability and detail, As somebody who usually only buys figures that wear helmets, for fear of poor head sculpts, I was surprised with the one figure that caught my eye while I was in Japan: the SH Figuarts Ahsoka Tano

Topps Star Wars Meiyo review

I was at Celebration Japan this year and despite loving Star Wars cards from Topps, I didn’t pick up their Star Wars Meiyo release which was first available at the event. However I was really lucky recently to get the opportunity to open 3 boxes from the after market. I have to say it is a really satisfying rip with a super unique look and feel…

Celebration Japan recap

It's been two weeks since Star Wars Celebration Japan, but my mind is still in the Makuhari Messe, Chiba, along with my wallet and the soles of my feet. Here are my reflections on an intense and amazing coming together of the Star Wars family.

Speculation and strategy for guest photos and autographs at Celebration Japan

Star Wars Celebration Japan is fast approaching! One of the biggest draws for fans that gets me hyped is the chance to meet our favourite actors through photo opportunities and autographs. However, with a wide selection of guests emerging, and a structured booking system, deciding when and who to book is proving more of a challenge than usual.

Thanks Skeleton Crew, c-cant say I remember no toxic discourse

Skeleton Crew felt like a beautiful breath of fresh air, and the positive reception has been energising after a period of discourse we'd all like to forget. There is something so poetic about the people of At Attin being insulated from the danger beyond, missing a civil war, surviving a raid by a bunch of pirates and grifters, and then gaining the strength to venture out thanks to the crew. I think they’ve given the fandom the energy to do the same.

Skeleton Crew Musings

So we’re over half way through Skeleton Crew, and what a ride so far. The one word I’ve heard over and over again to describe it is FUN, I agree. I’m super hopeful Skeleton Crew will be a hit and bring mainstream success that we haven’t really seen since the Mandalorian, but in the meantime I’ve been enjoying musing over the story so here’s some takes and questions…
